Internet radio hosting compared: Volticast, RadioKing, Radio.co, Live365, Zeno.FM, Shoutcast and AzuraCast
We publish Volticast, so this comparison is not neutral, and we would rather say so. To keep it fair, every figure below comes from each host's own pricing page, checked on 27 October 2026, and we say where another host does something better. Prices change: follow the links in your own search before deciding.
How to read this comparison
We compare the entry plan of each host that includes a 24/7 AutoDJ, because that is what most stations need. None of the hosts below says on its pricing page whether taxes are included, and some price in US dollars. Listening hours and simultaneous listeners are different units: see our guide on choosing a host for how to convert between them.
Volticast
- From 3.99 euros a month (Plan A), 8.99 and 18.99 euros for the next two plans; a year costs ten months.
- Unlimited listeners and listening hours on every plan; 5, 10 or 30 GB of storage; up to 128, 192 or 320 kbps in AAC or MP3.
- No advertising in the stream or on the public page, on any plan. 14-day free trial, card required.
- Music licences not included.
RadioKing
- Prices in effect since 15 September 2026: Discover at 14 euros a month, Start at 29, Pro at 54, Business at 99, with two months free on a yearly plan.
- Discover includes 150 listening hours a month, 50 simultaneous listeners, 1 GB of storage and one MP3 stream at 128 kbps. Start raises this to 20,000 hours, unlimited simultaneous listeners and 10 GB.
- Where it does better: more formats and several streams on the Pro and Business plans, and weekly audience reports.
- 14-day free test. Music licences are not mentioned on the pricing page.
Radio.co
- Lite at 35 euros a month, then 60, 140 and 200 euros.
- Lite includes 500 concurrent listeners, 2 GB of storage and up to 192 kbps; the Premium plan has unlimited listeners and up to 320 kbps.
- Where it does better: plans sized for very large audiences.
- 14-day trial; Radio.co states that music licences are your responsibility.
Live365
- From 65 US dollars a month, up to 1,099 dollars, for packages that include ads delivered by Live365 with a 50/50 revenue share; an ad-free option exists.
- Limits are listening hours: 1,500 a month on the first package, with overage billed at 0.07 dollars an hour.
- Where it does better: music licences are included for the United States, Canada and Mexico, which no other host here offers. They do not cover France or the rest of the EU.
- 14-day free trial, no card required.
Zeno.FM
- No longer free: Zeno.FM ended its free plans in January 2025. Starter lists at 35 US dollars a month, and prices may vary by country.
- Unlimited concurrent listeners, up to 400,000 listening hours and 128 kbps on Starter.
- Monetisation or ad-free streaming on every plan; earnings come from audio ads played during live broadcasts.
- 7-day trial on Starter, card required. No blanket music licensing.
Shoutcast
- Shoutcast Easy, the hosted plan, starts at 50 euros a year per station.
- Pre-roll advertising must be activated, even on that paid plan.
- Where it does better: a royalties report is included, and the free Shoutcast server software exists if you want to host it yourself.
AzuraCast
- Free, open-source software that you install on your own server.
- You provide the server: at least 2 GB of memory, 4 GB recommended, which costs around 6 euros a month excluding tax at a budget cloud provider.
- Where it does better: total control, no plan limits beyond your server's, several stations on one machine.
- Updates, backups, security and monitoring are yours to handle. No music licences.
